A scent of Christmas

 Today's letter in Beccysplace.com challenge is "G".

It had to be G as in Gingerbred man.

Christmas is many things to me

  • the scents roasted almonds still in the warm kettle, being sold outside the supermarket
  • It is the scent of dried Syzgium aromaticum tucked into clementines, and then they are hung up in the living rooms.
  • It is the scent of newly chopped Christmas tree.
  • It is the aroma of freshly baked cookies. I look forward every year to slipping into the kitchen and baking cookies. The scent is overwhelming, and brings back childhood memories.

  1. I agree with you Conny, the smells of Christmas bring back the most vivid memories for me too, particularly the scent of a newly cut pine tree. I always bake several different batches of cookies too, my hubby is particularly fond of home made treats.
Your card is adorable! I love the wonderful crackle effect with all the gorgeous colours, and that little gingerbread man is just too cute! It's a really fabulous fold and will give someone a wonderful surprise when it's opened. Love it!
    Cheers,
    Beccy

  2. Yep G is definitely for Gingerbread. I used Gingerbread images too. I like the background paper you used and the little baking scene in the middle portion of the card. Lovely card Conny.
