I received, by mistake a stamp by Sara Kay. I took contact to the seller, and she insisted that I had bought the stamps I had received. Well... I know that somewhere there are someone sitting with the stamps I ordered... But I try to look at the positive side of things. So, I though, oh well, I'll make a card, and then pass the stamp on to a friend of mine. Don't get me wrong, I like Sara Kay stamps, I just do not collect those stamps.
So therefore to day my card is A Sara Kay stamp with newly hatched chickens.
I do not know how it is in other countries, but my feeling is that not so many Easter cards are sent anymore, in Denmark at least. It has become too expensive!
The same trend is seen with Christmas cards / letters.
I myself do not send so many letters anymore. It's just a shame.
There are many things that are lost with not writing letters: sitting down with a personal letter, perhaps even handwritten, written for the one who is now sitting just waiting to read the message that has been written.
A tradition that disappears, quietly and calmly, without us even noticing it.
I love to send cards but it is very expensive. This is a cute Easter card. It's a shame you didn't get what you ordered.
SvarSletThank you for your kind words. Yes, I was sad I did not get the stamps I ordered. I collect Magnolia and Bildmalarna stamps. But I can't do much about it, it was through a fb group, and it was used stamps! But I try to find something positive, and this time it was that I got to color this Easter card. So 1 Easter card already done!!!
SletYes, I think it's the same here with posted letters and cards Conny, postage prices are getting too expensive. Most people exchange by hand with family and friends who live close by. In my family, we give cards to my Mum so that she can pass them on to aunts, uncles and cousins.
SvarSletYour Easter card is beautiful, the image is darling. It reminds me a lot of the Holly Hobbie designs from my childhood. I like the combination of the blue and brown cardstocks, and the twine is a lovely touch.
Cheers,
Beccy
